Alessandra is an experimental filmmaker, cinematographer and installation artist. Passionate about visual storytelling, Alessandra’s practice as an artist focuses on the individual experience as a means to understand the human condition, through the lens of psychoanalysis and language.
As a cinematographer, she has worked on commercials and videoclips for institutions (Interpharma, The International Union of Architects), international music and film festivals (Verbier Festival, Sicilia Queer Film Festival) and on short fiction films (La Nuit au Port dir. Pauline Deutsch– Clermont-Ferrand International Film Festival, La Passion dir. Kevin Haefelin, Le Jour Òu On Se Revoit dir. Hansaem Kim, etc.). As a filmmaker, she has directed several experimental short films and documentary shorts, such as Absence (2018, Festival Visages) commissioned by the Haute Ecole de Santé La Source and Swiss Dreams, commissioned by the Radio Télévision Suisse.
In 2018, she graduated with honours from ECAL (Ecole Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne) where she obtained a BA in Film and Visual Communication. She is currently pursuing her postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Art as an MA Information Experience Design candidate. Alessandra is based in London, UK and Lausanne, Switzerland.
